Facility and Branches

Professional Grounds serves the Northern Virginia market through two branches - one in Lorton, Virginia and another in Sterling, Virginia. The Lorton location serves as the company headquarters and central equipment service facility. Our Landscape Design and Installation Division is also located at the Lorton facility. The Sterling facility supports our Western Fairfax and Loudoun County customer base.

Landscape Division

Our Landscape Division specializes in creative designs involving the use of stone, brick, water features, outdoor lighting and plant material, all selected with location and long term maintenance in mind. This division is capable of serving both commercial and residential customers. We have the experience and skills to handle anything from small-scale front or back yard projects as well as larger commercial installations. Three to five crews are fielded each day each of which is able to perform a range of landscape projects including drainage system installation, retaining wall construction, walkway and patio construction, outdoor lighting installation and, of course, landscape planting. During recent years this division has been the fastest growing and most exciting area of our company as we introduce our services to new segments of the market. Our crews install distinctive and attractive landscapes using a variety of equipment such as loaders, tractors, skid steer loaders, specialized trucks, and a variety of specialized power tools.

Maintenance Division

Professional Grounds began as a commercial landscape maintenance company and serves a number of high profile commercial landscapes. During the growing season the physical maintenance of a variety of landscapes comprises a significant portion of this divisions' activities and creates the level of curb appeal that our customers have come to expect. Within the Maintenance Division, we have specialized crews who focus on seasonal tasks such as mowing, mulching, pruning, and leaf removal. Our experienced crews are customer focused and along with the Area Managers, work together with you to manage your evolving landscape year after year.

Our Horticultural Department implements our Integrated Pest Management Program and is responsible for all applications of pesticide, fertilizer, seed, and lime. Our Enhancement Department designs and installs flower rotations, performs small-scale landscape improvement projects and is our "rapid response team" to customer concerns. As we are geographically located in an area subject to some winter weather, snow plowing is also a service we offer our customers.

In-House Operations

Professional Grounds owns and maintains a fleet of over 40 vehicles, trailers, tractors and other specialized landscape equipment valued in excess of $1 million dollars. The vast majority of repairs and maintenance are done in-house by our full-time year-round mechanics. Our ability to maintain and repair our huge inventory of equipment benefits our customers by reducing delays due to equipment downtime.

Our Administrative offices operate from 7:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Thursday and 7:00 am to 3:30 pm on Friday. During those hours you can be assured of reaching someone to answer questions or address your concerns.
