Overview of Company Benefits and Policies

Working Hours - You can expect to work a 40 hour week, however hours and days occasionally vary due to workload and weather. The workday begins at 7:00 am and usually concludes at 3:30 pm. A one half hour meal break is scheduled each workday.

Pay Period - Paychecks are distributed bi-weekly, on every other Friday, and cover the a two-week pay period which begins on Wednesday and runs through the following Tuesday.

Performance Reviews - individual annual performance reviews and evaluations are conducted during which each employee's ability to meet essential job requirements is evaluated.

Vacation, sick days and holidays - salaried employees are entitled to annual paid vacation based upon length of service and up to 6 days sick leave per year. The company observes 7 national holidays each year for which yearly employees are eligible as paid holidays.

Safety and Health - Professional Grounds emphasizes safe workplace practices. Use of proper safety equipment, regular safety training sessions, written safety rules, a drug-free workplace policy and regular review of the driving records of those who operate our vehicles are some of methods used to maintain a safe workplace. In addition a monetary safe driving incentive is offered as well as accident free awards which are presented to those who remain accident free.

Insurance - The company provides health insurance to its employees and makes it available to family members. Group life insurance and disability insurance are also available. All employees are covered by worker's compensation insurance.

Educational Assistance - The company will pay for satisfactory completion of educational seminars, college credits and short courses that will assist your professional development and improved job performance. Each request is evaluated on its own merit; satisfactory completion of the course is a pre-requisite for company paid educational assistance.

401(k) Plan/Profit Sharing - Professional Grounds periodically contributes to your profit sharing plan. Full time employees who are over 21 years old and who have over one year uninterrupted service are eligible to participate. A range of investment opportunities for the proceeds of the profit sharing plan are offered to eligible employees. Employees become 100% vested in the profit sharing plan after 8 years of continuous employment with the company.
