Professional Grounds Announced the Official Landscape Design/Build Firm for Gold Cup
Professional Grounds, Inc. is pleased to announce we have been selected as the Official Landscape Design/Build Firm for the 83rd running of the world famous Virginia Gold Cup steeplechase race, which will be held on the first Saturday in May at Great Meadow in The Plains, Virginia! Professional Grounds has been the Official Landscape Design/Build firm for both the Virginia Gold Cup and International Gold Cup Races since 2006. The International Gold Cup Races are held on the 3rd Saturday in October.
What Does the Official Landscape Design/Build Firm do at the VA Gold Cup?
As the Official Landscape Design/Build Firm we will be designing and installing the landscaping around the Steward Stand/Winner’s Circle, around the Chairman’s Box on Member’s Hill and the Horsemen’s Tent Entrance, the racecourse side of the timber fence on Members Hill, and both sides of the entrance on Gate 1 at Member’s Hill.
Professional Grounds will not only help make the already breathtaking views at Great Meadows in The Plains, Virginia even more beautiful for thousands of Virginia Gold Cup guest to enjoy, but we will also be enjoying the event ourselves with clients and friends of Professional Grounds. About Virginia Gold Cup
The Virginia Gold Cup is a grand spring tradition as well as a fixture on the social calendar. Run in Fauquier County since 1922 and attended by over 45,000 spectators, this race is one of the largest and most popular sporting events in the greater Washington metropolitan area. Race day features seven hurdle and timber horse races, Jack Russell Terrier races, tent, tailgate and hat contests, a parachute demonstration, and over 30 vendor booths for shopping.
